Hubspot Integrations

This article helps you connect HubSpot from the survey distribution page in SurveyMars, send response data to HubSpot, or send a survey when a HubSpot event happens.

Overview

HubSpot is a third-party integration. It is off by default, and you turn it on yourself. After you turn it on, you can set both Send response data and Trigger a survey when a HubSpot event happens.

Use Cases

- You want survey answers written to matching HubSpot fields.

- You want a survey sent by email or SMS when a HubSpot record is created or updated.

Feature Access

1. Open the survey distribution page and go to Third-party integrations.

2. Find HubSpot. The connection is off by default.

3. Turn the connection on. The setup window opens immediately.

4. Choose the features to set up. You can set both at the same time.

Trigger a Survey from a HubSpot Event

After you choose this feature, complete the steps below. A successful account connection moves you to the next step.

You can return to a finished step, review what was saved, and change a dropdown before you save again.

1. Connect your SurveyMars account to your HubSpot account. After the connection succeeds, SurveyMars opens step 2.

2. Choose the HubSpot events and actions that trigger the survey. You can select more than one action. Actions include Create and Update.Events include contact,company and order

3. Set the trigger conditions. Require every condition, or trigger when any one condition is met. Click + to add a condition, or delete a condition. You need at least one condition before you can save.

4. Choose how to share the survey and who receives it. Sharing methods are email and SMS, the same methods on the distribution page. You can edit the message for each method.

After setup succeeds, keep the selected method turned on. Email or SMS details can show HubSpot. Recipients come from the HubSpot fields you select.

5. Finish setup.

Send Response Data

Map survey questions to HubSpot fields. Response data is sent to those fields.

1. Connect your SurveyMars account to your HubSpot account. After the connection succeeds, SurveyMars opens step 2.

3. Finish setup.

Pause, Edit, and Delete

After the connection is on, you can pause, edit, or delete it.

1. Turn the switch off to pause the connection.

2. Click edit to return to the setup steps and change saved settings.

3. Click delete. Confirm in the dialog to remove the connection.

FAQs

Why does a window open as soon as I turn HubSpot on?
Turning the connection on opens setup so you can choose response transfer, an event trigger, or both.

Can I use both features?
Yes. You can set up response transfer and event triggers at the same time.

How do trigger conditions work?
Require every condition, or trigger when any one condition is met. Use + to add a condition, or delete one. Keep at least one condition to save.

Does turning the switch off delete the connection?
No. Turning it off only pauses the connection. To remove it, click delete and confirm.

Can I go back and change a step?
Yes. Open a finished step to see what you saved. You can change a dropdown and save again.
