Company Template Library
This guide explains how to use the Company Template Library in SurveyMars. The Company Template Library is designed for large enterprises and educational institutions to publish fixed survey content as templates for internal departments and employees. System Administrators maintain base surveys centrally, and Survey-Creating Administrators can reference templates and continue as needed.
Feature Overview
In large enterprises or educational institutions, fixed survey content often needs to be published as templates to other internal departments or employees. For example, enterprise managers create base survey content, and employees in branch departments use that content directly.
Sub-accounts may have the following three usage scenarios:
1. Edit freely — make any changes to the base content.
2. Keep base content unchanged — only add new content.
3. Use as-is — no modifications at all.
To support these scenarios, SurveyMars offers the Company Template Library: System Administrators can create base survey content and add it to the library, while Survey-Creating Administrators can reference base surveys and proceed with the next steps.
Creating the Company Template Library
Note: Only System Administrators can add templates to the Company Template Library. If a System Administrator does not have permission to edit "My Account" information, they also cannot edit the Company Template Library.
Method 1:
1. After completing survey editing, go to "My Account" > "My Company" > "Company Template Library" to open the management page.
2. Click "Add Template Survey" in the upper-right corner to add a survey under the current user's account to the Company Template Library.

Method 2:
1. After completing survey editing, go to "Design Survey" > "Settings" > "Share & Query".
2. Under "Company Template Library", add the survey to the Company Template Library.

Template Library Permission Settings
Surveys added to the Company Template Library can be configured with survey visibility scope and edit permissions. Visibility scope defines which sub-accounts can view the template.

Edit permissions fall into the following three types:
1. Editable
- When a sub-account references a survey from the Company Template Library, it is equivalent to making a copy. After copying, the survey belongs to the sub-account with no editing restrictions.
- Direct Copy: If the reference rule is set to "Editable," you can enable the "Direct Copy" switch. Once confirmed, the template is automatically copied to all sub-accounts within the visibility scope, so sub-accounts do not need to reference it manually.

2. Partially Editable
- Core parts of the template survey cannot be modified, but new questions can be added.

3. No Editing
- After a sub-account copies and references the survey, they cannot access the editing page through any channel. They can only distribute the survey after referencing.

FAQ
Q: Who can add surveys to the Company Template Library?
A: Only System Administrators with the appropriate permissions can add and manage templates. If a System Administrator does not have permission to edit "My Account" information, they cannot edit the Company Template Library. Survey-Creating Administrators can reference surveys from the library but cannot add new templates.
Q: What is the difference between "Editable" and "No Editing"?
A: With "Editable," referencing is equivalent to copying a complete survey that can be freely edited. With "No Editing," sub-accounts cannot access the editing page after referencing and can only distribute the survey.
Q: What is the "Direct Copy" feature?
A: When the permission is set to "Editable," enabling "Direct Copy" automatically copies the template to all sub-accounts within the visibility scope, so they do not need to reference it manually.
Important Notes
- Only System Administrators can add surveys to the Company Template Library. If you lack permission to edit "My Account" information, you cannot edit the Company Template Library. Please verify your account permissions.
- Complete survey editing before adding a template. Both entry methods are supported.
- Set the visibility scope appropriately to ensure templates are only visible to target sub-accounts.
- With "Partially Editable," core content cannot be modified — only new questions can be added.
- With "No Editing," sub-accounts can only distribute the survey after referencing and cannot access the editing page.
- Before enabling "Direct Copy," confirm the permission is set to "Editable" and the visibility scope is configured correctly.
