Do Not Disturb settings

When a survey is embedded on a webpage, you can configure Do Not Disturb (DND) settings to control when visitors are shown or reminded of the survey again, so you avoid repeatedly bothering those who have closed it or already participated.

How it works

DND settings use rules to control the timing and number of “remind again” actions. When custom rule trigger or custom script trigger is selected, the system automatically reads and applies your DND rules to decide whether to show or remind the survey to that visitor again.

Example rules

You can set multiple rule types to match your use case, for example:

Remind again after visitor closes the survey: After the visitor closes the survey popup or page, show or remind again after a set number of days. You can customize the number of days and the maximum number of reminders.

Remind again after visitor has participated: After the visitor has participated (e.g. submitted) the survey, remind again after a set number of days. Useful when you need to collect responses more than once. You can customize the number of days and the maximum number of reminders.

Both the number of days and maximum reminders in each rule are customizable. For example:

- “Remind again 1 day after visitor closed the survey, at most 1 time”: remind once 1 day after close, then stop.

- “Remind again 7 days after visitor participated, at most 1 time”: remind once 7 days after participation, then stop.

You can change the numbers in the brackets to fit your needs (e.g. 3 days, 5 times).

Recommendations

- After close: Best for re-engaging visitors who closed without completing. Use a short interval (e.g. 1–3 days) and a low reminder limit to avoid being intrusive.

- After participation: Best for recurring surveys (e.g. NPS, satisfaction follow-ups). Use a longer interval (e.g. 7 or 30 days) and a reminder cap to control frequency.

Exact rule options and trigger types (rule vs. script) depend on the current product configuration.

Notes

- DND rules rely on the system recognizing actions such as “close” and “participate.” Ensure your embed and tracking are set up according to the product documentation.

- When using custom script trigger, you must add the required script to your page as described in the platform docs so the system can read and apply the DND rules correctly.
