Report Share
This article helps you share a SurveyMars report by email, with a password, or with an open link.
Overview
Email share is selected by default. You can switch to password access, or share an open link. An open link can be copied or posted to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and Reddit. An open link shows the report only. It does not show individual responses.
Use Cases
- Send the report to specific email addresses and edit the message and button text.
- Protect the report link with a password.
- Copy a public link or post it on social media.
Feature Access
1. Open the report you want to share.
2. Open share settings. Email is selected by default.
3. Switch to Password or Open link if you need a different method.
View the report via email
You can send the report to one or more email addresses. SurveyMars sends the email after the content is approved.
1. Add addresses one by one, or add them in bulk. In bulk entry, put one address on each line.
2. After you add an address, Add appears before Delete. Hover over Add to open the small dialog and add another address. Bulk add uses the same pattern.
3. Edit the email body and the button text.
4. To change the email look, click Customize email style and open the email appearance page.
5. The share includes all data by default. You can also choose a saved filter and share only the filtered data.
If you already entered email addresses and then switch to password share, SurveyMars clears the email share and asks you to confirm. Confirming this makes the previous share link invalid.
Email Verification for Responses
1. If viewing response data is on, the recipient must verify their email before opening the view button in the email.
2. If you share the report only and viewing response data is off, the view button does not ask for email verification.
3. The verification code is not sent automatically. The recipient must click send code.
Enter the password to view the report
1. Select password access and set a password for the shared content.
2. SurveyMars shows the report link. Click copy to copy it.
3. The share includes all data by default. You can choose a filter and share only the filtered data.
If you already set a password and then switch to email share, SurveyMars clears the password and asks you to confirm. Confirming this makes the previous share link invalid.
Anyone with the link can view the(report)
1. Switch to open-link sharing.
2. Copy the link. Anyone with the link can view the report.
3. Or click the Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or Reddit icon to share on that channel.

Select sharing filters
Saved filters are listed by default. You can also create a new filter.
1. Enter a name for the new filter.
2. When the filter is not a text-entry question, set the password or email by condition, or switch and set them by answer choice.
3. Save the password or email addresses used with that filter.
When Response Details Are Off
If email share or password share does not include response data, text-entry questions show totals only. Viewers cannot open each answer. Choosing view details shows: Sorry, detailed data is available to the author only.
Reports Without a Response Setting
These reports do not include a view-responses setting when you share them: Employee Satisfaction, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, Customer Journey, NPS, Appointment Statistics, Loop Evaluation, Scenario Random, Data Dashboard, SPSS, Conjoint Analysis, PSM, and Kano.

share settings show Questions marked as private will be masked to limit access.
This switch is on by default. While it is on, those questions appear as ****** in shared response details. Turn it off to show the answers in shared response details.
Important Notes
- Email share and password share do not stay active together. After you confirm a switch, the previous share link is no longer valid.
- Every report that uses email share can include more than one email address.
- An open link cannot show individual responses.
FAQs
Why did my email addresses disappear after I switched to a password?
The two methods cannot stay together. After you confirm, SurveyMars clears the email share and invalidates the previous link.
Why must the recipient verify an email address?
Verification is required when viewing response data is on. It is not required when you share the report only. The recipient must click send code. The code is not sent automatically.
Why can't viewers open each text answer?
When response sharing is off, text-entry questions show totals only. View details tells them that detailed data is available to the author only.
Why do privacy questions show asterisks?
The privacy mask is on by default. Shared response details show those questions as ******. Turn the switch off to show the answers.
