Import multiple contacts from Outlook
This guide explains how to import contacts from Outlook in SurveyMars Contacts. Connect your Outlook account, select contacts, map fields, and add them to your contact list quickly.
Overview
SurveyMars Contacts supports several batch-import options. With Outlook, SurveyMars connects to your Outlook account, pulls contact data, and lets you choose records and map fields before import. Contacts added from Outlook are placed in a department named Outlook automatically.
Use cases
- Your audience lives in Outlook contacts and you want a one-time import instead of manual entry.
- You plan to invite Outlook contacts to surveys and need them in SurveyMars first.
- You want to filter by source; Outlook imports are grouped under the Outlook department.
Feature access
1. Open Contacts
2. Open the Add contact dropdown.
3. Choose Batch add contacts. A panel opens on the right.
4. The panel lists import options including Upload CSV, Gmail, Mailchimp, Outlook, Office 365, HubSpot, and Text.

Import contacts from Outlook
1. In the batch-add panel, click Outlook.
2. Sign in to your Outlook account if prompted. If you are already signed in, choose which Outlook account to use.

3. After a successful sign-in, SurveyMars fetches contacts from that account and shows them in a list.
4. Select the contacts you want, then click Next. You can select all, deselect all, or search to filter contacts.

5. On the field mapping step, match each Outlook field to a column in the Contacts table. Common fields such as name, email, and address are matched by default; adjust as needed.

6. To skip an Outlook field, click Delete. A confirmation dialog appears before the mapping is removed.

7. Confirm mapping and finish import. Selected contacts are added and assigned to the Outlook department.

Important notes
1. Outlook imports are placed in the Outlook department automatically.
2. Only contacts with valid email addresses are imported.
3. Verify email and other key fields during mapping so invitations work after import.
4. Deleting a field mapping requires confirmation to reduce mistakes.

Q: I removed a field mapping by mistake.
