The setting for removing the highest and lowest scores is divided into two parts. In the screenshot, the first part specifies the preconditions for the rule to take effect: the second part of the rule only becomes active when the number of levels exceeds a certain threshold.

The second part of the rule offers three options, which are mutually exclusive, meaning only one can be selected at a time (the first option is selected by default).

 Calculation rules

Remove the highest and lowest scores feature: The calculation rules are based on the number of respondents who have submitted the questionnaire. Therefore, as responses are collected, the calculation of removed scores changes dynamically. It is recommended to analyze the data after all responses have been collected and the survey is closed.

1. For each level (customizable for every set number of people), remove one highest score and one lowest score:

* Within each level, one highest score and one lowest score need to be removed.

* The removal of the highest and lowest scores is only allowed if there are at least three people in each level. If a level has fewer than three people, no scores will be removed for that level.

* In the second method, if it is set to remove one highest and one lowest score for every three people, and a level has four evaluators, two highest and two lowest scores will be removed (the number of scores removed = the number of evaluators divided by 3, rounded down).

2. Set the highest and lowest scores to be removed individually by level.

This feature only appears when the user selects the option to "set the highest and lowest scores to be removed individually by level."

* It supports a dropdown selection of levels already set in the user evaluation relationship, allowing customization of the number of highest and lowest scores to be removed for each level.

* Different levels can have custom rules, specifying different numbers of highest and lowest scores to be removed.

* There is a limit of adding up to 10 custom rules. If the limit is exceeded, a prompt will appear: "You can add up to 10; you have reached the limit and cannot add more!"

* The removal of the highest and lowest scores can only occur if there are at least 3 people in each level. If a level has fewer than 3 people, no scores will be removed for that level.

* If the number of people in a level is exactly equal to the number of scores to be removed and there are at least 3 people, the removal will proceed as normal.

FAQ

Q1: Where can I access the remove highest and lowest scores settings?

Q2: What are the preconditions for the remove highest and lowest scores rule to take effect?

A: The rule only becomes active when the number of levels exceeds a certain threshold. This ensures that there are enough evaluators in each level to make the removal of extreme scores meaningful and statistically valid.

Q3: How does the calculation rule work for removing scores?

A: The calculation rules are based on the number of respondents who have submitted the questionnaire. For each level, you can remove one highest score and one lowest score for every set number of people (e.g., for every 3 people). The removal only occurs if there are at least 3 people in each level.

Q4: Can I set different removal rules for different levels?

A: Yes, you can set the highest and lowest scores to be removed individually by level. This feature supports dropdown selection of levels already set in your evaluation relationship, allowing customization of the number of highest and lowest scores to be removed for each level, with a limit of up to 10 custom rules.

Q5: Why should I use the remove highest and lowest scores feature?

A: This feature helps eliminate extreme scores that might skew the assessment results, providing more balanced and reliable evaluation outcomes. It's particularly useful when you want to focus on the consensus opinion rather than outlier scores that might be biased or extreme.
