- You want to distribute your survey to specific groups by country, age, gender, education, and other criteria.

- After collecting response data, you need to compare groups and present results to your team or clients.

Overview of Find Target Audience page filters

Tip: Not every field is required. If a criterion does not matter for your study, leave the default or choose "All" to reach a larger pool of matchable respondents.

How to Use Audience Panel

These steps are for first-time users, from submitting an Audience Panel request through collecting response data.

Step 1: Prepare Your Survey and Open the Request Page

- Find "Find Target Audience" on your survey page, or go to the Find Target Audience page.

- If you already have a survey in SurveyMars, finish the design and check question logic and required fields (preview the flow first so respondents have a smooth experience and you avoid invalid responses after distribution). In "Your Questionnaire," select the survey you want to distribute.

- If your survey is not ready, you can still submit a request on the page: click "Upload Questionnaire" to upload a document for an accurate quote, or enter the planned "Number of Questions." You do not need to create and publish a survey first.

Step 2: Set Target Audience Criteria and Response Count

- In "How many responses do you need?", enter the number of responses you want. Under "Who do you want to respond to your survey?", set filters such as country, gender, age, and education based on your research goals.

- When the details are correct, enter "Your Email" and "Your Name" in the "Overview" panel on the right and click "Submit" to complete your request.

- A SurveyMars team member will review your request and send a quote by email within 24 hours (make sure the email address you provide can receive mail).

Step 3: Review the Quote and Pay

- After SurveyMars confirms your quote, a "Your Sample Order Quote and Payment Information" dialog appears.

- Review the order details (survey name, target audience criteria, response count, and cost). If everything looks correct, click "Pay Now" to pay. If something needs to change, click "Modify Requirements" to update your request and get a new quote.

- For payment steps or invoicing, see the help article.

- After payment, the platform matches your target audience and distributes the survey. Check order status and purchase details in "Billing Details."

Step 4: Track Collection and View Data

- While responses are coming in, go to "Analytics → View/Download Responses" to track progress and view response details in real time.

- Once you reach your target count, use Crosstab, Data Display, and other tools to analyze and present your results.

Important Notes

- Audience Panel is a paid add-on. Pricing is quoted by a SurveyMars team member after review; the page does not show a price immediately after you submit.

- Use an email address that can receive mail when you submit. A team member will review your request and notify you by email within 24 hours.

- Not every filter is required. The more specific your criteria, the smaller the matchable pool may be, which can affect cost and delivery time.

- After you receive the quote dialog, click "Pay Now" only when the details are correct. Payment and invoicing are covered in the help article; check order status in "Billing Details."

FAQ

Q: Do I need to create and publish a survey before submitting an Audience Panel request?

A: No. If your survey is not ready, go to the Find Target Audience page, click "Upload Questionnaire" to upload a document, or enter "Number of Questions" and submit. If you already have a survey, select it under "Your Questionnaire" to continue setup.

Q: How soon will I receive a quote after submitting a request?

A: A SurveyMars team member will review your request and send a quote by email within 24 hours. Make sure the email address you provide can receive mail. After you are notified, log in and the "Your Sample Order Quote and Payment Information" dialog will appear for you to review.

Q: Can I change the quote or target audience criteria if I am not satisfied?

A: Yes. In the quote dialog, click "Modify Requirements", update your filters, response count, or other details, and submit again. A team member will review and send a new quote.

Q: What target audience filters does the Audience Panel support?

A: The platform supports 243 countries/regions, plus gender, age (18–99), household income, education, marital status, parental status, race, religion, sexual orientation, industry, employment status, job function, job level, and more. Not every field is required—configure only what your study needs.

Q: What is the difference between target audience filters and survey questions?

A: Target audience filters (such as country, age, and education) are used before distribution so the platform can match respondents and send your survey. Survey questions (such as satisfaction or usage frequency) are used after collection to gather answers and run analysis. Together, they support targeted distribution and deeper follow-up analysis.
