Engagement Report Analysis and Insights

The Engagement Report provides comprehensive analysis of employee engagement survey data, automatically generated when your survey title contains "engagement" and dimensions are configured. This report offers detailed insights into engagement scores, dimension comparisons, organizational structure analysis, and helps identify factors influencing employee engagement.

Setting Up the Engagement Report

To generate an Engagement Report, you need to complete the following setup steps:

Step 1: Enter Questions and Set Scores

After entering your questions, you need to set scores for the corresponding question options. For rating questions, assign different scores to each option to enable accurate engagement calculations.

Note: You can quickly import questions using the template import feature, either use our system templates directly or leverage AI to create an engagement survey.

Step 2: Configure Dimensions

Set up dimensions and bind relevant questions to each dimension. This allows the system to calculate engagement scores for each dimension separately.

Important: After completing dimension setup, make sure your survey title contains the word "engagement". If it doesn't, please add it to enable the Engagement Report feature.

You must create an "engagement" dimension and bind questions to it. The engagement dimension is essential for generating the Engagement Report.

Dimension Configuration and Binding

Step 3: Submit Responses

After completing all settings, publish your survey and test it by clicking the survey link to submit responses. Once responses are collected, you can view the Engagement Report on the "Analysis Your Results" page.

Score Calculation Methods

1. Calculating Engagement Score

To calculate the engagement score, first download the raw data and identify all questions bound to the "engagement" dimension. Then:

1. Calculate the average score for each question bound to the engagement dimension

2. Calculate engagement dimension score: Average of all question average scores bound to the engagement dimension

Example: If the engagement dimension binds 4 questions with average scores of 6.75, 6.75, 2.125, and 7.25 respectively, then Engagement Score = (6.75 + 6.75 + 2.125 + 7.25) / 4 = 5.72

Raw response data table:

Index Submitted Time Spent Collector Question 49 Question 50 Question 51 Question 52
1 11/13 2025 15s Link 4 2 2 4
2 11/13 2025 12s Link 6 8 3 8
3 11/13 2025 10s Link 2 8 2 6
4 11/13 2025 14s Link 8 6 2 6
5 11/13 2025 13s Link 10 10 2 10
6 11/13 2025 11s Link 10 10 2 10
7 11/13 2025 16s Link 6 6 2 6
8 11/13 2025 9s Link 8 4 2 8

The table above shows 8 respondents' answers. Questions 49, 50, 51, and 52 are all bound to the engagement dimension.

Calculation process:

1. Question 49 average: (4+6+2+8+10+10+6+8)/8 = 6.75

2. Question 50 average: (2+8+8+6+10+10+6+4)/8 = 6.75

3. Question 51 average: (2+3+2+2+2+2+2+2)/8 = 2.125

4. Question 52 average: (4+8+6+6+10+10+6+8)/8 = 7.25

5. Engagement dimension score: (6.75 + 6.75 + 2.125 + 7.25) / 4 = 5.72

Note: The number "4" represents the 4 questions bound to the engagement dimension.

Engagement Score Calculation Example

2. Calculating Question Scores

Question scores are calculated as the average of all respondents' scores for that question. Using the example above:

- Question 49 score: (4+6+2+8+10+10+6+8)/8 = 6.75

- Question 50 score: (2+8+8+6+10+10+6+4)/8 = 6.75

- Question 51 score: (2+3+2+2+2+2+2+2)/8 = 2.125 ≈ 2.13

- Question 52 score: (4+8+6+6+10+10+6+8)/8 = 7.25

Note: The values in parentheses are the scores selected by each respondent for that question, and the divisor "8" represents the number of respondents.

Engagement Impact Factors

Impact factors refer to various dimensions that influence employee engagement scores. If the engagement score is relatively low, you can examine the scores of different dimensions in the impact factors section to identify potential causes.

For example, if the "Corporate Culture" dimension has a low score, you can analyze whether employees generally do not identify with the corporate culture or work environment, which may be causing the low engagement score. The impact factors provide reference indicators to help analyze what influences engagement scores.

In our example, we have 18 impact factor dimensions, including "Corporate Culture" and "Enterprise Management". If both dimensions have relatively high scores, it indicates that employees identify with the corporate culture and are optimistic about enterprise development. If all dimensions have good scores, the employee engagement score will also be relatively high.

Calculation Method for Impact Factors:

Using the "Enterprise Development" dimension as an example, which binds questions 6, 7, 8, and 9:

1. First, calculate the average score for each question:

- Question 6 average: (6+4+2+6+10+10+4+6)/8 = 6

- Question 7 average: 5.5

- Question 8 average: 8

- Question 9 average: 6

2. Then calculate the dimension score: Average of all question average scores = (6 + 5.5 + 8 + 6) / 4 = 6.38

Impact Factors Calculation Example

Engagement Category Comparison

This section displays engagement scores under different category conditions, such as engagement levels for employees aged 25-30 (inclusive) or employees with a bachelor's degree.

The system calculates engagement scores for each category based on responses from that specific category. For example:

- Age category: 25-30 years old

- Education category: Bachelor's degree

- Department category: Human Resources, Marketing, etc.

The calculation method is the same as the engagement score calculation, but only includes responses from the selected category.

Organizational Structure Engagement Report

This section displays engagement reports for different organizational structures such as departments, regions, branches/subsidiaries, schools/grades/classes, and districts.

1. Select the organizational structure field from your survey (e.g., department, region)

2. The system calculates engagement scores for each organizational unit based on responses from that unit

3. Calculation method: For each dimension, calculate average scores of all questions bound to that dimension for responses within the organizational unit

Dimension Question Scores

This section displays scores for questions bound to each dimension. You can view the performance of individual questions within each dimension to identify specific areas that need improvement.

Each question score is calculated as the average of all respondents' scores for that question, similar to the calculation method described in "Calculating Question Scores" above.
