Important Notes

- European Data Protection: Once data is migrated to European nodes, it cannot be migrated out due to strict EU data regulations

- One-time Migration: Migration is a one-time process; choose your destination carefully

- Notification Dismissal: Migration notifications will not reappear after being dismissed or after completing migration

- Data Integrity: All data relationships and configurations are preserved during migration

- Regional Compliance: Migrating to regional nodes ensures compliance with local data protection regulations

- Automatic Node Detection: New users are automatically assigned to the appropriate regional node based on their location

- Migration Time: Migration time depends on the amount of data; larger accounts may take longer to complete

Others: After migration, copying a questionnaire from the US node that was originally duplicated by another account will not be supported on the European node.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Who is eligible for data migration?

A: Existing European  users who are currently using US data nodes are eligible for migration. New users are automatically assigned to the appropriate regional node based on their location.

Q: Can I migrate my data multiple times?

A: No, data migration is a one-time process. Once you migrate to a regional node, you cannot migrate again. Choose your destination carefully.

Q: Can I migrate data out of European nodes?

A: No, due to strict EU data protection regulations (GDPR), data cannot be migrated out of European nodes once it has been moved there. This is to ensure compliance with European data protection laws.

Q: How long does the migration process take?

A: Migration time varies depending on the amount of data in your account. Smaller accounts may complete in minutes, while larger accounts with extensive survey data and responses may take several hours. You will receive an email notification once migration is complete.

Q: Will my surveys and responses be affected during migration?

A: Your surveys will remain fully functional during the migration process. However, there may be brief periods where new responses are temporarily queued. All data integrity is maintained throughout the process.

Q: What happens to my third-party integrations after migration?

A: All your third-party integrations (Zapier, Google Sheets, Slack, PayPal, etc.) will be preserved and continue to work normally after migration. API keys and webhook settings are also transferred.

Q: Can I change my mind after starting the migration?

A: Once you confirm the migration in the dialog box, the process cannot be stopped or reversed. Make sure you review all details carefully before confirming.

Q: Will I lose any data during migration?

A: No, all your data is preserved during migration. This includes surveys, responses, account settings, integrations, team members, and all configurations. The migration process maintains complete data integrity.

Q: How do I know which data node I'm currently using?

A: You can check your current data node in the User Information page. The node name will be displayed and highlighted for easy identification.

Q: What are the benefits of migrating to regional data nodes?

A: Regional data nodes provide faster loading times, improved performance, and compliance with local data protection regulations. European users benefit from GDPR compliance.

Q: I don't see the migration notification banner. Why?

A: The migration banner only appears for eligible users (existing European users on US nodes). If you don't see it, you may already be on a regional node, or you may have previously dismissed the notification. You can still access migration options from the User Information page.

Q: What happens if the migration fails?

A: If migration fails, your data remains on the original node and is not affected. You will receive an error notification and can contact support for assistance. The migration can be retried once the issue is resolved.

Q: Can I migrate only specific surveys instead of all data?

A: No, migration is account-level and includes all your data. You cannot selectively migrate individual surveys or data components. The entire account data set is transferred to maintain consistency and relationships.
