Import multiple contacts from Mailchimp
This guide explains how to import contacts from Mailchimp in SurveyMars Contacts. Connect your Mailchimp account, choose an audience and contacts, map fields, and add them to your contact list quickly.
Overview
SurveyMars Contacts supports several batch-import options. With Mailchimp, SurveyMars connects to your Mailchimp account, pulls contact data from the selected audience, and lets you choose records and map fields before import. Contacts added from Mailchimp are placed in a group named Mailchimp automatically.
Use cases
- Your marketing audience lives in a Mailchimp audience list and you want a one-time import instead of manual entry.
- You plan to invite Mailchimp subscribers to surveys and need them in SurveyMars first.
- You want to filter by source; Mailchimp imports are grouped under the Mailchimp group.
Feature access
1. Open Contacts
2. Open the Add contact dropdown.
3. Choose Batch add contacts. A panel opens on the right.
4. The panel lists import options including Upload Excel, Gmail, Mailchimp, Outlook, Office 365, HubSpot, and Text.

Import contacts from Mailchimp
1. In the batch-add panel, click Mailchimp.
2. Sign in to your Mailchimp account if prompted. If you are already signed in, choose which Mailchimp account to use.

3. After a successful sign-in, select your Mailchimp team and audience, then click Save.

4. SurveyMars fetches contacts from that audience and shows them in a list.
5. Select the contacts you want, then click Next. You can select all, deselect all, or search to filter contacts.

6. On the field mapping step, match each Mailchimp field to a column in the Contacts table. Common fields such as name, email, and address are matched by default; adjust as needed.

7. To skip a Mailchimp field, click Delete. A confirmation dialog appears before the mapping is removed.
8. Confirm mapping and finish import. Selected contacts are added and assigned to the Mailchimp group

Important notes
1. Mailchimp imports are placed in the Mailchimp group automatically.
2. Each import requires selecting a team and audience first; only contacts with valid email addresses are imported.
3. Verify email and other key fields during mapping so invitations work after import.
4. Deleting a field mapping requires confirmation to reduce mistakes.
