Create Online Assessment
This guide explains how to create an Assessment survey in SurveyMars and configure the full workflow — from question setup and dimension binding to assessment result display — for scenarios such as psychological assessments, competency evaluations, and satisfaction surveys.
Feature Overview
Assessment surveys automatically calculate scores based on responses and generate overall or dimension-level assessment reports. You can assign option scores, create assessment dimensions, bind questions to dimensions, and let respondents view the assessment report after submission.
Setup Steps
1. Create an Assessment survey and add scored questions
Create an Assessment type survey and add scored question types in the survey editor, such as Rate the Choice, Rating Checkbox, and scale questions.
2. Assign a score to each option
In the question editor, configure a score for each option. The system calculates the total score based on the options selected by respondents.
3. Access Set Assessment Report
Go to "Design Wizard" > "Set Assessment Report" to configure assessment dimensions, result rules, and report display settings.
4. Create dimensions and bind questions
On the "Set Assessment Report" page, create dimensions (e.g., "Emotional State," "Interpersonal Relations") and bind survey questions to the corresponding dimensions. Scores are then calculated separately by dimension.
5. Set overall or dimension-level assessment results
Based on your needs, configure display rules and result text for overall assessment results and dimension-level assessment results (e.g., different interpretations for different score ranges).

Note: If you set dimension standard scores, a radar chart will appear in the assessment results for easy comparison across dimensions.
6. Submit responses and display assessment results
Under "Survey Settings" > "After Submission", enable "Show Assessment Report". After respondents submit, the system automatically displays the assessment report.

Important Notes
- After creating an Assessment survey, ensure all added questions are scored question types with configurable option scores.
- Configure all option scores in advance; incomplete scores may affect final calculations.
- Questions must be bound to dimensions for dimension-level statistics; unbound questions will not appear in dimension results.
- Overall and dimension-level results can be configured separately — choose based on your assessment goals.
- Radar charts appear only after dimension standard scores are set; complete standard score configuration if you need radar chart comparison.
- Showing the assessment report after submission must be enabled separately in Survey Settings; otherwise respondents cannot view the report after submitting.
