My Pending Surveys: Sub‑accounts can quickly view and complete assigned survey invitations

The SurveyMars "My Pending Surveys" entry helps sub-accounts with Contacts enabled quickly view and answer surveys sent to them by email, SMS, or Internal Message (API) from the "My Surveys" page. After you submit, you can view response details under "Participated" and answer again when allowed.

Overview

After an organization enables Contacts, the primary account can send surveys to contacts by email, SMS, or Internal Message (API). If a contact is also a sub-account (including roles such as Survey Editor collaborator, Full Results Viewer, and Statistics Viewer), they will see "My Pending Surveys" in the left navigation after signing in. A full-screen dialog lets them manage pending and participated surveys in one place, without digging through emails or external links.

Prerequisites

The entry appears only when all of the following are met:

1. The account has Contacts enabled and in use.

2. The signed-in user is a sub-account (not the primary account owner).

3. The sub-account must be created via "Add Contact" so it can be linked to a Contacts contact and receive pending surveys. Creating from blank only, or creating the sub-account first and later adding a contact with the same email, may leave the pending list empty.

Create a sub-account by adding a contact

Note: In "Add Sub-account", click "+ Add Contact" and select an existing contact to link the sub-account correctly.

How to Access

1. Sign in to SurveyMars with a sub-account that meets the prerequisites, then go to "My Surveys".

2. In the left navigation, find "My Pending Surveys" below "All Surveys" and "Starred Surveys".

3. Click "My Pending Surveys" to open the pending surveys home in a full-screen dialog. A close button is in the upper right.

Note: After you close the dialog, the left navigation returns to "All Surveys" by default.

How to Use

1. View and answer pending surveys

1. After you open the "My Pending Surveys" dialog, the top shows the current contact’s name, email, department, and related details.

2. The "Pending" tab is selected by default and lists surveys you have not finished.

3. In the upper right, filter by send channel: "Send Email", "SMS Share", or "Internal Message (API)". You can also search by survey name.

4. Click "Answer Now" on the right of the target survey to open the response page, complete it, and submit.

Pending list

Note: The list is shown by channel. If the current channel has no data, switch to another send method. If the same survey was sent by both email and API and only one response is allowed, finishing on any channel also removes the pending item from the other channels.

2. View participated surveys and responses

1. Switch to the "Participated" tab to see submitted surveys and the "Last submitted" time.

2. Click "View Response" to open the details for that submission.

3. If the survey allows editing responses, allows multiple responses, or a 360 Assessment has batch rating enabled and is not fully completed, an "Answer Again" entry appears so you can continue or edit.

Participated list

Note: Surveys that do not allow answering again or are fully rated show only "View Response". When multiple responses are allowed, "Last submitted" shows the most recent submission time.

Important Notes

- "My Pending Surveys" appears only when Contacts is enabled and the user is a sub-account. It does not appear in the primary account sidebar.

- The sub-account must be created and linked via "Add Contact" to receive pending surveys correctly.

- Roles such as System Administrator, Survey Administrator, Survey Editor collaborator, Full Results Viewer, and Statistics Viewer can also see the pending list if the sub-account was added from a contact.

- The list is shown by channel—switch the filter to match how you received the invitation. When multiple channels allow only one response, finishing on any channel clears pending items on the others.

FAQ

Q: Why don’t I see "My Pending Surveys"?

A: Both must be true: Contacts is enabled for the account, and you are signed in as a sub-account. The primary account sidebar does not show this entry.

Q: I was sent a survey, but the pending list is empty. Why?

A: First switch the send channel in the upper right (Send Email / SMS Share / Internal Message API)—the list is shown by channel. If every channel is empty, confirm the sub-account was created and linked via "Add Contact". Matching email alone without adding from a contact usually does not deliver pending surveys.

Q: Can collaborators and data viewers use "My Pending Surveys"?

A: Yes. System Administrator, Survey Administrator, Survey Editor collaborator, Full Results Viewer, Statistics Viewer, and similar roles can all see and use the pending list if the sub-account was added from a contact.

Q: Where does a survey go after I submit it?

A: After submission, it moves from "Pending" to "Participated". There you can see the "Last submitted" time and click "View Response" to open the content. If the survey allows only one response and was sent on multiple channels, finishing on any channel also removes pending items on the others.

Q: When does "Answer Again" appear?

A: It appears when the survey allows editing responses, allows multiple responses, or a 360 Assessment has batch rating enabled and is not fully completed. When everything is finished or answering again is not allowed, only "View Response" is shown.
