Imagine this: you chose to ride an E-Jeepney because it’s air-conditioned. You expect comfort. But once inside, you find yourself stuck in an overcrowded space — shoulders pressed, no room to breathe, and comfort instantly gone. ‎ ‎

This is the everyday reality of thousands of Filipino commuters. Overcrowding in E-Jeepneys takes away not only the comfort that’s promised but also puts safety at risk. ‎ ‎

According to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), overcrowding in jeepneys, vans, and buses is strictly prohibited, and operators who exceed passenger limits may face penalties (“No Overcrowding Allowed in Jeepneys, PUVs, and Buses: LTFRB,” SPOT.ph, July 8, 2025). This shows that the issue of overcrowding is not just a daily inconvenience, it is a recognized violation that compromises both safety and comfort.

That’s why we, Ejeeptians, through our advocacy L.U.W.A.G. (Let Us Work Against Gitgitan), are raising our voices. We believe that commuting should be safe, comfortable, and dignified. ‎
